Agree on all items, Ted.

No doubt Schroeder thinks of a "Swedish solution", where he would just go on with a minority cabinet of SPD/Green while relying on the support of the ultra left.
Promises before the election? Forget it!

What most likely may make sink this possibility, however:
Schroeder's fate would then be in the hands of Lafontaine once ousted from the SPD by Schroeder.
Lafontaine has but one goal in his life, to get even with Schroeder and take back control of "his" party SPD.
The ultra left and Gysi is but a step on his way to achieve this.

I doubt Schroeder would run that personal risk.

Right now I am fairly sure that we will see a cabinet formed by the Union, Green party and FDP. They are all actually not too far separated and in particular not where it counts, how to get the economy back under control.
