Maurice Re: "correction" I thought you might appreciate the irony of this as you have repeatedly complained about the swarm of "blodgers" who have descended upon your country from all over the world. Here you have this woman who was an outspoken advocate for endless immigration into my country writing this syurpy piece of Victorian poetry as propaganda to support her cause. This is how the game is played and there are similar efforts at work today. Maybe somebody should write such a poem about your country, extolling your Hobbits and Helen Clark handouts. <g>

If Emma Lazarus had her way my country would be a very different place, with ghettos full of unassimilated people from everywhere. But instead, we installed quotas and a very rigid examination procedure that both limited absolute numbers and made an effort to reject the unfit. In recent years we have let our guard down but sanity is returning.

I have a Hitler speech from 1929 where he attacks the American immigration system as being "unfair" to Germany because we only allow in their "best and brightest" and very few of those. But he also recommends that Germany adopt much of the American immigration system. Hitler was no doubt aware that he himself would not have been allowed to come here as an immigrant.
