Like Vietnam, you can't win when you're the occupying force and you cannot tell friends from foes. Especially if the foes are willing to kill themselves to kill you, and if there's some sort of civil war going on you're caught in the middle of. Our very presence over there is what is causing most of the tension and motivation for the insurgency. If we left, it would disappear. Besides, it's the Iraqi's country, let them handle it.
