Dude, Saddam tyrannized a contentiously religious country. If he was successful (as y'all have noted), it was because he in fact could be "friends" and "associate" with MANY religious radicals of various stripes. Your argument flies in the fact of some basic common sense...it's a bad premise, the above of yours.

Please don't repeat "Saddam....wasn't the one threatening us.." OF COURSE he in fact continually threatened us. You really don't recall his words, and those of Baghdad Bob? Gimme a break. I just paraphrased some of them! Short memory? You know I speak truly here, I should think.
