Well, I am certainly not going to defend Brown, I think hes a SISSY myself, but I also think Louisianna was SO CORRUPT that they were INCAPABLE of defending themselves. I live in a hurricane area, I dont EXPECT FEMA to be of ANY HELP during or just after a hurricane cause I know they are not set up for that, and dont have the forces to do that. That's not true. I have worked on disaster duty under the auspices of FEMA. During a disaster, FEMA is expected to take over. Often times, the local authorities have been incapacitated due the disaster or their resources have been incapacitated. As for you not needing anyone, I find that a little hard to believe. People in MS needed food, water and ice and the only source was FEMA. If you lived in MS, how would your predicament be any different? IF you feel the FEDERAL GOVT has to carry your sorry ass out of harms way then you MUST vote for MILITARY CONTROL with state and local politicians OUT OF THE PICTURE. Tell me how many Govenors are willing to sign over their power. Oh stop with your macho crap........if there wasn't gov't, you wouldn't have a freeway on which to drive, water to drink, gas to cook with nor electricity to light your house. Airlines wouldn't have airports to fly out of. Builders could put up a 40 story next to your house. Ever been to a country where there are no gov't controls? You anti gov't types should be required to live in one for a year. You would change your tune real fast. As to BUSH, personally I dont expect my President to go down and drive a bus. jdn Right. You would prefer he were strumming a guitar while his people are in trouble.
