Let me explain something, Peter. For over 5 years this thread examined all sorts of issues from time travel to dark matter to panspermia to gravity--and every aspect of religion--particularly the Christian.

Most of the previous contributors in the beginning were extremely bright and some of the discussions were extraordinary.

But over time, topics get worn out and arguments on other threads and competing loyalties and so forth can change the participation and the dynamics.

Over time as well I have become frustrated with the absolute inability of certain people to rationalise the contents of the bible. It is frustrating to quote say God sending 2 bears to violently rip 42 little children to shreds and receive no sense of outrage but rather..."God is good so it must be a good thing" sort of response.

I have quoted thousands of biblical contradictions and I have quoted examples of the most brutal and savage and primitive behaviours imaginable. Normal humans should be outraged by such acts and (for me) the glib and seemingly unconscientious defense of such acts is revolting and does not serve to restore my hope for humanity.

This is partly to explain a rather uncivil approach of late. I am simply worn out with the crass gullibility of certain millions of people who breathe my air on this planet.

And NO. I DON'T agree that mass ignorance and mass delusions should go unchallenged or be accorded phoney regard or equivalence. Just as you in the political arena do not feel compelled to give a respectful tongue to what I have heard you term the "Fiberals"--neither do I feel compelled to give a respectful tongue to those whom praise and tolerate what is far far worse behaviour than any liberal ever did.

I will grant that I cross my personal boundaries of conduct at times. But I am not entirely unfamiliar with the sh-t that passes for discussion on other threads. So I think that your judgmental (and somewhat supercilious tone) is something you might what to consider as the mote in your own eye.

Other than that....you seem like a gentleman.
