Peter, I'm around rednecks a lot, even here in Florida. Some people don't know anything about Florida except the beaches, Disney World, and NASA, and have never seen, or heard of, the interior of the state that is as redneck as they get.

Admittedly, the conservative side of rednecks is a bit different than the accepted definition in DC, but the most important part about self help, individualism, pull up your boot straps, and walk tall, stand for the National Anthem, say "under God" in the pledge of allegiance, and shedding a tear when "Taps" is played, seems to be universal among them.

BTW, the people from New Orleans are not rednecks. Some of them are red bones, but not red necks.
