Sorry, but this is patently false. I really recommend watching "Triumph of the Nerds". In it Jobs recalls his trip to Xerox PARC...let me quote Jobs from memory (but I am true to the original):

"I have always been shameless about stealing a great idea. Xerox showed me 3 things that were revolutionary, but I was so dazzled by the first that I did not even see the other two: They showed me object oriented programming, but I did not see that...they showed me email and networking, but I did not see that...I was just too dazzled by the GUI user interface and drag and drop"

Then they showed the interview with the head of research lab on how Jobs asked for a technical demo to his development team. She refused saying that it would not be possible without a direct order from the HQ in NYC and she warned the Xerox management about how this show and tell would be giving away everything and the kitchen sink. Jobs flew to NY and secured the demo anyway!
