Sure, I see and read that stuff everyday and most people seem to agree that illegal immigration is "too high" and more has to be done to reduce it "in order to preserve lower paid jobs for our citizens".

Having said that, "too high" is a relative term and I am more interested in data proving that it has indeed gone up during GWB, so we can put the blame for this one on him while we are at it.

In the unlikely event, however, that this is not the case, then at least we can blame "The Chimp" for not curtailing illegal immigration fast enough, I guess.
Just like we can blame Junior for almost anything - including but limited to the earthquake in Pakistan...

So, now we know legal immigration is at a 15 years low,
has illegal immigration possibly gone the same way under GWB or not?

Believing is great but keep it where it belongs, in the church."

Taro, don't you ever read or watch the news? It isn't like this has exactly been kept hidden, although they haven't been making a big deal of it. This article is typical, more people are authorized, but no money is allocated, if the budget itself isn't cut.

Taro just doesn't understand how the system works. First, you have to cut enough from the budget to account for the tax cuts, then there is the war in Iraq, then there's GOP pork and then there is the interest bill on the deficit. What's ever left over, and it ain't much, gets divvied up among the remaining 200 budget items. We are lucky we still have an INS.
