"has illegal immigration possibly gone the same way under GWB or not?"

Probably not due to lack of enforcement, but we don't know. The last figures from INS are from 2003 for 1990 to 2000. INS quit collecting figures in 2002 for their up until then yearly Yearbook, so there hasn't been any data from that source. There are some other figures that purport to show an increase of about 50% over the past few years in the number of resident illegal immigrants, but they are from sites that oppose illegal immigration and hence are suspect.

Sure, I see and read that stuff everyday and most people seem to agree that illegal immigration is "too high" and more has to be done to reduce it "in order to preserve lower paid jobs for our citizens".

Having said that, "too high" is a relative term and I am more interested in data proving that it has indeed gone up during GWB, so we can put the blame for this one on him while we are at it.

Duh! Illegal immigration is illegal. That suggests that immigrants don't register before they cross the border. The best that can be done is to provide guestimates. What we do know for sure is that Bush has not funded the numbers of INS officers required by legislation passed in the late 1990s. Now that's a fact.

In the unlikely event, however, that this is not the case, then at least we can blame "The Chimp" for not curtailing illegal immigration fast enough, I guess.
Just like we can blame Junior for almost anything - including but limited to the earthquake in Pakistan...

Bush is reponsible for a number of missteps over which he had control.........notwithstanding your efforts to trivialize
those missteps by bringing up earthquakes and hurricanes.

So, now we know legal immigration is at a 15 years low,
has illegal immigration possibly gone the same way under GWB or not?

The lowering of legal limits on immigration started well before Bush came to office.

Given his rather poor success rate with other issues, its high unlikely illegal immigration has decreased since he took office.
