The term that I have seen used is Originalist. This is supposed to be a person who reads the Constitution the way that our framers intended. Obviously this requires using documents like The Federalist Papers and reflecting on prior interpretations, rulings and tradition.

What I have learned since my previous post is that Harriet Miers may be vastly different than what President Bush thinks. She is beginning to resemble David Souter. She revels in not expressing personal opinions.

President Bush probably thinks she is like him because she is an effective council for his opinions. She is obviously a good listener and knows how to make herself agreeable. If we do not know that she is going to avoid legislating from the bench, then she is not worthy of our support.
