The logic of set theory does not care about Indefinite articles in most cases. The English language does have it's rules. They are logical. If you read the law as written you understand that it is written about any church. And of course the Bill of Rights also forbids the establishment of a state religion, and it forbids the states from doing such as well. It's clearly and simply written, but one must master the English language, and the use of the language in law. Your mastery of set theory not withstanding. Orca
