Covad Communications Group Inc (DVW) (1.03 -0.03) COVAD COMMUNICATIONS GROUP INC., a provider of voice and data communications, said it may periodically sell up to $150 million in common and preferred stock, debt securities and warrants. In a shelf registration statement filed with the U.S. SEC, the company said it plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, which may include capital spending, debt repayment, acquisitions and investments. Under a shelf registration, a company may sell securities in one or more separate offerings with the size, price and terms to be determined at the time of sale.
