"Our wallets will NEVER be protected by Congress." Yep! Not without fundamental change I believe. Likely a Constitution Amendment will be required. "Why, cause the system is GAMED so that we cant point a finger at any one individual," You are catching on! "YET those bastards spend OUR MONEY like it was their own in a drunken fest to get reelected." They don't stop there --- they are spending vast sums of money we don't even have... and sending the interest & principal payments on that debt to your children and grandchildren. "If you want to protect your wallet we GOTTA have LINE ITEM VETO" An excellent idea, and one I strongly support. Too BAD that the Supreme court has already ruled that that would be an un-constitutional delegation of Congress' budget making authority... so you would have to AMEND THE CONSTITUTION ANYWAY to get a power like that. I say, while you are about it, that is, amending the US Constitution, go ahead and put in a Presidential line-item veto power AND a requirement that ALL federal budgets be balanced (except in times of declared war or declared national emergency). "and hold THE PRESIDENT that ONE MAN acountable for every dime spent. If he goes over budget FIRE THE BASTID. Then HE can be the one to blow the whistle as he vetoes on the guilty parties." Congress is responsible too (after all, that's what their JOB is, and they are elected the same as the President). So, make those Constitutional amendments and then they are ALL held to higher standards and legal requirements.
