You can't always defeat bastards- but the very worst thing you can do (imo) is to become like them, in order to "defeat" them- because obviously, no matter who wins at that point, you're going to have bastards.

It depends who you are trying to convince. If it's a grand jury, just compile the evidence and let them do their job.

If it's swing-state moderates in the Midwest who don't respond well to standard coastal Bush-bashing, you need a message that speaks to a higher level of politics, ethics and concern for people and the world we live in.

And you have to do that without sounding like a wimp.

Otherwise you can yell and scream all you like - and convince the wavering moderates that even if the incumbents are bastards, the screamers on the fringe are no better.
