I saw a cool show about Leonardo De Vinci's machines.
(My favorite inventor/artist/naturalist/etc.)

They tried to build some of the designs Leonardo
had drawn 500 years ago.

Almost all of his designs were modeled after nature.
He used the structures of bird wings as his model of
a glider. Also figured ways of creating things using
the similar design as the human body.

He believed that all of the answers to are problems
lies in nature.

The team of experts building some of these things
tried to improve the designs with modern thinking.
Amazingly Leonardo's designs worked better.

It really blows my mind with all the things he was
able to accomplish. So many oars in the water but
still found time to row them all.

People like him only come once every hundred years or more.

Are there any like him out there now?

What's he working on?

Nanotech?

Biotech?

Or wasting it on weapon designs...
