How would a balanced budget amendment get around the problem of "estimates"?

Revenues are subject to estimates. Want the budget to balance? Inflate revenue estimates. It's a year or longer before the actual numbers come in.

Buddy, I thought you were smarter then that. I have shown and so have others that probably 50% of the people pay little or no taxes, so they are in this for what they can get. Politicians play to that large group and PROMISE them the moon so with a balanced budget amendment they would either raise taxes or cut defense to satisfy the promises they made for their votes.
Now, if you would agree we need to TIGHTEN up voter requirements with SOME method of requiring voters to be responsible and informed then I could go along with a balanced budget amendment. But, I just dont trust our Congress, the President is the ONLY PERSON who owes EVERYONE and not just a local constituency and is the only one who can put in the controls necessary to get this country on track to fiscal responsability. jdn
