Great point SIG

AMD would need significant advantage in cost and performance over Intel to be of use to Dell, and I believe that Intel is not that far behind the curve and also that if AMD becomes too much of a threat, that Intc can design systems with capabilities equal to whatever AMD can produce-if pressured to do so.

There's an old adage about that very point but I can't remember exactly how it was phrased or who said it. Something about what a new product needs in terms of performance, quality and price to unseat a market share leader. It was something like 3X + in those three categories.

Anybody remember?
