I suppose it is OK, unless one believes the leader doesn't have to pay attention to the current law. At least most of the children knew the difference, and said so pretty vocally to their parents and teachers.

On further thought, the leader could have said..."under Mohammed, under Buddha, under Madelyn O'Hare, under Mother Earth, under no one at all except me, myself and I, or under anyone else anyone wants to believe this is under, including God."

That could have made someone happy, I suppose.
