I happen to think we really rolled over on Tibet in a very cowardly fashion. I wouldn't suggest invading China, since I'm not looking forward to global thermonuclear war, but I do think we could have, and should have, done much much more. Don't you? Or are you happy with our most favored nation trading partner?

I'm not trying to come up with black and white answers- YOU'RE the one who said we shouldn't support dictators. Did you forget you said that already? My my, what a short memory you have. Let me go clip the relevant black and white statement for you.

"Any other way to conduct business is to support some form of dictatorial rule."

So you would agree that we DO support dictatorial rule when it's in our interest? And thus we do conduct business in a way which sometimes supports dictatorial rules. And if you would agree, then would you agree the above statement in quotes is silly (and black and white)?

"What's embarrassing is watching so many struggle to come up with black and white answers to very complex geopolitical problems."

Yup. Your black and white answers are embarrassing to watch. If you can get over them, we can talk about dictators, and what we really ought to do, and what sort of policy we can have that is somewhat consistent, but does not constrain our national interest too severely (rather than pretending we invade for humanitarian reasons, when it is quite clear we really don't)
