Are you suggesting we take polls and based on the results make the decisions of war and peace and possibly a whole range of other issues? That should make for an interesting government, "Go take a poll and let's see if we should do X".

Oh, this is getting good, please tell us who would conduct the poll(s), how should the poll questions be phrased? How many polls? How often? Should they be done on a Saturday, Sunday and how broad a sample should be conducted? I'm still waiting to hear a "practical" solution. What you've presented is nothing of the sort. That's why you're floundering around avoiding the real question.

Not to mention setting aside the entire "the American people were still duped" during the last election cycle assumption. Foreign policy and the topic of war were the main campaign themes during the last election. And when the American people heard the arguments, they decided to stay the course.

Your "credible" is nothing more than wishful thinking couple with an underlying petulant belief the American people are easily duped.

Now, can you really answer the question, or are you just going to talk about general attitudes and avoid the question again?
