"Your best guess, right? You mean the way it should be according to your opinion."

True, it is my guess. Given Hitler's viewpoints on racial purity and obsession with breeding a super race, freely available abortions for everyone is inconsistent. Just look at the way the BDM was organized, those girls were intended to be breeders for ranking Nazis. But, okay...

Googling "hitler abortion" gets a large number of hits. The first is consistent with what I suspect....

abortionfacts.com

The second is by Gloria Steinham, no real point in following that link. The third is at some site named "precious-life.com". No doubt they have as much of an axe to grind as Gloria. The fourth analyzes an Internet email, no real insight there. The fifth, well, it is becoming obvious that Hitler and abortions is a hot button...

So I could probably find several sites that support my viewpoint. It does have the salient quality of being consistent with Hitler's approach to a number of issues. At least one site notes abortion was legal before Hitler came to power. If true, then he could have discouraged abortion without necessarily changing the laws simply by having his thugs "suggest" that abortions not be performed under certain circumstances.

Ok, so what was Hitler's stance on a related topic, contraceptives? Oh bother, that seems to be as much of a hot button as abortion. This site, historylearningsite.co.uk
however, seems to indicate that the Third Reich was doing a lot to encourage a high birth rate, in and out of marriage, for those of the "right" bloodlines. This also supports my thesis.
