DICK CHENEY, you got a lot of 'splainin' to do. <G> apnews1.iwon.com Yes, I'd love to see Cheney wearing an orange jump suit. But let's look at the common sense to this matter. 1. Of course the Vice President of The United States will have access to Top Secret codeword material. And, his security cleared chief advisor may be let in on some of the details. No crime there.

The crime is when the name of a CIA operative is leaked to the Press for revenge and political advantage. Just as letting the Prez and Veep know about a British Pakistani asset who was learning secrets from Al Qaida is no crime. The Bush administration nitwits outting him just as the spy was getting close to the guy who later committed the London subway bombings is a crime. So, Scooter and or Rove telling the press is the crime, not Cheney telling Scooter and Scooter telling Rove.

But, what was Scooter's and Rove's motivation? It was obviously to crush an American hero and his wife, who may also be a hero, though we'll never know everything she's done for the country. We do know that Ambassador Wilson was one of the most courageous ambassadors ever to serve the United States and he defied Saddam right after Saddam invaded Kuwait, before there was a Desert Shield or Desert Storm to protect him. Saddam said he would hang anyone who hid Kuwaiti citizens, and Wilson not only gave them sanctuary on US territory in the Embassy, he went to a press conference wearing a rope around his neck. As the real President Bush said, "a true American hero."

So, the idea was to slime this hero for daring to tell the truth about Bush lies about uranium purchases. The other point which Fitzgerald will probably not be able to uncover is, who forged the document saying that Iraq was trying to buy uranium from Niger? My guess is that it was Rove and his Dirty Tricks operation, who then funnelled it to Sismi (Italian spy group) to show a third party discovery. Sismi has already admitted it was a forgery, but said they didn't forge it. And Rove, like Goebbels, has made an art of forging documents.

So, we have an administration who will throw garbage on heroes to prove we should start an unjust, evil war that killed over 100,000 people. A bit of meat there, IMHO.
