A better idea would be to abolish the minimum wage, but monitor those who are way under labor market rates.

Compassionate conservatives don't seem to have any problem relieving the unbearable burden of 20% capital gains taxes on the wealthiest individuals, the ones who actually benefit the most from keeping wages and benfits down, the ones who by benefiting from keeping a lid on all wages and benefits are able to expand their ownership, markets and ultimately their control of the political process in order to deny the least of us any possibility of escape from their condition. And they dress this up as compassion? Compassion for whom? I am not aware of anything the so-called compassionate conservatives have ever done that is not completely self-serving.
