it is much more complicated than my post would suggest.

I respect your intelligence, but this is where we disagree.

This is not quantum mechanics. This is about good and evil.

If we do the right thing and if we do not contribute to evil, in this case, that is more than half the battle.

It is pretty much like mixed doubles in tennis. How often do we see one partner (usually the man - but that is beside the point ggg) blaming the partner for not understanding how to play correctly (complex strategy - whatever) - when if he only eliminated his own unforced errors, their chances improve immensly. But I digress.

for other reasons they wanted us to occupy Iraq and THEY were willing to pay the costs. Even they, however, underestimated the complexity of the problems, underestimated the passion and power of everyday people and overestimated our power to enforce our will a half a world away in a culture we don't understand. What does this tell us.....simple solutions to complex problems don't work

The only thing this tells us (you are forcing me to be highly partisan and saying unkind things) is not put into office untreated alcoholics who want immediate gratification without having to do any thinking when confronted with problems.

Ouch. Did Condie Rice really say this week that Bush could invade Syria and Iran without any additional Congressional Approval? I heard that's what she said but perhaps that was simply the implication.

Apparently Bush believe he's KING which makes him, by definition, enemy number one of democracy. I used to give that title to Grover Norquist but alcoholic, deserting freakshow Bush deserves that title after Rice's blatherings.

Hey Condie, you idiot, exactly what troops and what money (ok, what credit card) do you dweebs think you'll use to invade two more countries? How insane are you people and is this what you're going to use in order to win elections in 2006: war, death, destruction and bankruptcy.

``I'm not going to get into what the president's options might be,'' Rice said. ``I don't think the president ever takes any of his options off the table concerning anything to do with military force.''
