The so-called centrist Democrats are Tony Blair wannabes. I am tired of these so-called centrists who in reality are Republican Lites. Neither Kerry nor Hillary Clinton nor Lieberman nor Edwards nor any of these bozos who essentially want to continue the illegal invasion of Iraq will get my vote.

Anybody who wants my vote must be strongly and consistently, almost fanatically anti Iraq war. Failing which I would rather vote for Chuck Hagel than vote for anybody from the feckless and cowardly so-called centrist Democrats.

"Who among us knew Bushies were completely lying their heads off from day one?"

I did. And I have hardly been to Washington nor am I a C-SPAN junkie. Anybody with a little common sense and who has seen even a little bit of the outside world would have known that Dumbya wanted to invade Iraq come what may and the media in the US were beating the drums to make it happen. And I don't think it is too much to expect a US Senator to have that level of common sense and worldly understanding.

"Who among us knew Bushies were completely lying their heads off from day one? Very few".

I disagree with that.

I would say that on SI alone the numbers would have been in the hundreds and more than 1 million people demonstrated world wide
with a relatively clear understanding that this was a "hoked-up"
war.

You just had to listen to George Bush speeches and Hans Blix
comments to understand that. You did not need ANYTHING else.
And there was MUCH more evidence.

Namaste!

Jim

I would further add that I VERY MUCH DOUBT that the Democrats
believed the Bush line.

I think they went along in supporting the war because their largest contributors are pretty much the same largest contributors that the GOP have--Wall St. Money, big Pharma,
big Business, old money, recently found money.

Generally titled: the Military-Industrial Complex.

Namaste!

Me. In fact, everybody at the NNBM bar, and most people on Scott's thread.
We knew. I even kept referring to Tonkin. Kerry fucked up. All the centrist Dems who voted for it fucked up, and are Shrub enablers.
How will Kerry ask the last American kid to die in Iraq? "Pretty please, with sugar"?
