<impersonal and universal.>

Agreed.... although by mystical accounts {see Maharshi} concious. Therefore the term 'god' seems to fit as well as something like the 'unified field'.

<It does not make any sense to consider any particular species or individual as being more entitled than any other.>

Agreed... all is divine, although of course humans have certain attributes one could judge as 'more advance' or 'higher'... or perhaps those of certain ilk would call it "in gods image"?

<Life is a gift. Awareness is a gift. And people need to stop banning other creatures and one another. This "Banning" ignorance on SI is simply the reductionist policy of religions and political groups writ small. Racism and elitism are alive and well on the threads of SI...where feeble minds stroke one another and ban those whom expose their nakedness.>

Agreed... I actually got banned from a precious metals thread for saying I thought the idea that GW Bush started the war in Iraq so he could make money on his oil holdings 'outlandish' and comical.

<I find the NT as brutal and primitive as the OT.>

Well, we simply disagree there... I find it hard to believe that anyone would find that bwtfdik. There are books like 'revalations' that are pretty horrific {NT}.

<I cannot fathom how anyone could explore those contradictions, cruelties, primitive beliefs, and so forth without a firm disgust and a strong opposition. "Jesus">

That's simply because I believe his teachings are all about love, peace, compassion, & forgiveness. In fact all his most famous supposed "quotes" are about that. "Love thy Neighbor {in Matthew this and love god was said to be more important than the 10 commandments and what all the previous {OT?} prophets teachings and all law should stand on!! Pretty broad! How DID the OT even get in the bible??}", "Turn the other cheek", "Forgive them they know not what they do {as he's getting killed}", "leave judgement to god {"don't judge people}", "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone".

Anyway... who cares Jesus good or evil?? I care truth... I simply see a lot of it in his {supposed} teachings. That's all.

<I still don't know what you believe, or why?>

Well, we're getting there!! LOL

DAK

Oh yea:

< "Jesus" believed in demons as cause of disease.>

'demons'... well what are demons. JMO that people functioning on a low level {very low?}, in the realms of hate, or even what psychologists and psychiatrists would have names for, would be called demonic... I think the term is still in use today by some. All Eastern medical practices believe disease comes from your psychological state, I think most psychologists probably believe that today in the west, and many doctors also think there is a link. This type of translation of a statement from 2k years ago is not shocking at all to me.
