OT: Don, could there be any other explanation for the lack of inventory for this model? Did you check to see how long it has been out? Perhaps the model is being closed out?

They have been talking about "excessive inventory" for many, many months

It's amazing isn't it - TI was under heavy fire by the financial community for some time;
I also thought some excessive inventory situation would trigger a negative sentiment

HI Don,

It shows what definite inroads have been made by Lean method manufacturing have made.

Last year I bought an Aquos 37" for my wifes birthday.Not shopping very hard and a little behind (the result of procrastination)I bought it at Best Buy.

They had 5 TV's in the metro area of Houston (4th largest city) - all demos.Upon paying for it, I had to wait 5-7 days for a truck to bring it from the regional distribution center (Dallas).

No one takes a big chance on excess inventory,or price decreases for that matter.

Just another subtle indication of how far off the days of inflation are.Used to be you stocked up on things before a price increase occured.

2006 will make factory utilizations getting pegged to max.This will prod reinvestment in Capex and then finally an overbuild - hopefully delayed and not as outrageous as we endured in 2000.

These are great times - buy the dips!!!

Bob
