The thing that appeals to me the most about biodiesel is less dependence on Middle Eastern oil. Let's see, if the US didn't need Middle Eastern oil, we could quit giving billions to Israel, billions to Egypt, and we would not need all those bases all over the Middle East, not to mention war in Iraq. How much would that save?

And nobody would have to die for it.

We have the land to grow the soybeans and the corn and everything else that's needed -- that's one thing America has, lots of good farmland, with a good climate and lots of water.

We just lack the political will.
