Yes, this is pretty exciting. It is actually more than I hoped for. BUT ALSO: the entire increase flows through to holders of OST.UN. That means about a fivefold increase in the payout. After OST.UN tripled and quadrupled over the past year, I sold off some of it to get into other things. In retrospect that was a mistake. It might be possible to grab some OST.UN on the opening if people are not very quick in figuring this news out. I have not calculated what its fair value might be, but the extra $2.00 a year in distributions ought to be good for about a 10-point rise in the price. I would not be broadcasting this except I have no way to get my hands on any uninvested cash by 9:30 tomorrow morning.
