The Astros are the first World Series team in more than a half-century with a roster that doesn't include a single black player.

The NFL is going in the opposite direction. I wonder which Superbowl team will be the first to have have no white players.

Black players accounted for just about 9 percent of big league rosters this season.

Latino players now make up 24 percent of major league rosters:

According to MLB figures, 24 percent of the 829 players on rosters this season were born in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela or Cuba. The number expands to 40 percent at the minor-league level.

The White Sox, who have always had a large Latino fan base, have been capitalizing on this trend.
