I was in Texas last week. I learned several things.

1) Out in the rural areas, the only radio talkshows are far rightwing like Hannity and Limbaugh and they constantly spin and mislead. So no wonder those people are so ignorant. The rightwing propaganda machine is manipulating them and offering no counterpoint.

2) An oilman I met admitted he's been gouging ever since Bush-Cheney came into power and he was gleeful about it. He also admitted he was going to keep gouging until Bush-Cheney were out of power. Oilmen consider two of their own in the WH to be carte blanche permission to gouge.

3) I met Anne Richards, a very straight sober lady, who was smeared by Rove as an "alcoholic lesbian". She told me Kerry's only mistake was not to anticipate the wave of smearvet lies coming and alert the public. If he had, Kerry would have won the election. She admitted every campaign Rove has ever waged has been mainly about a smear campaign, none of the charges true.

4) Texas is crazy for football and drinks more than any other state.

5) Willie Nelson should be governor of Texas. He is the real thing, unlike Bush and Cheney.
