JCP, Iran was moving twoard being a much more moderate nation before the chimp took over our ME foreign policy.

It had taken decades of difficult diplomatic work since the hostage crisis to begin to marginalize the clerics there. In just a few short years, the chimp threw enough of a scare into the Iranian people to enable the Islamic radicals win the last election there.

I don't know if the above is correct. It was my understanding that Iran had a "moderate" President for 8 years who was unable to implement the reforms he promised in his campaign because the clerics blocked them all. Then in the recent election the clerics banned most "moderates" from running. The guy who won was one of many "Islamic radicals" running for the Presidency. That doesn't sound like the clerics getting marginalized to me; rather, it sounds like they have been solidifying their power.
