I struggle with that one. Ideally, you are right. You want to embody the values that you want others to follow. Practically speaking, though, that would be the utmost folly. We have enemies that celebrate when 3,000 of our innocent civilians are murdered as they head to work. There can be no mistaking what they would do with a nuke, if they got their hands on one. Our weapon of last resort against crazy Muslims who want to annihilate us to that we can ensure there won't be one Muslim country left standing, if we are attacked. We simply live in a very dangerous world.

I for one wish nukes were in no one's hands. However, one thing is certain. If this world is to be free of nukes, the last one to dismantle them needs to be us.
