Some people just don't like liberals, and there are still a few small government types around, though why they wouldn't run screaming, at the top of their lungs, from the party Mr. Bush is presiding over, I don't know. So you're right- how could they stand to be identified with the party? Perhaps they are just too apathetic to change to independent? Depression can do that to people. Mr. Bush, aside from presiding over the worst foreign policy disaster I can remember (since Vietnam), is also the most spendthrift president I think I've ever seen- he must be giving the small government people chronic pain.
