You couldn't be farther from the truth, imo. Rather than progress in the ME, we are seeing destabilization, and I doubt it will end up being good for the US. The bulk of Muslims are against Israel (polls in the ME show this consistently) and more and more the polls show the citizens of the ME are against the US too. Oh goody for us, what progress! The Saudis are "friendly" compared to what will come next in Saudi Arabia. I just don't think you have any idea of what it is like over there.
