If a foreign country occupied my country, I'd go and shoot at the invaders. Gee. That's what some Iraqis are doing to us...imagine that.

So YOU want to fight the BULLY. Hey, guess what, that puts you in support of the Iraqis who are fighting the US.

Weird huh. Do you think through your positions before you post them?

I'm not a member of moveon.org and I'm not particularly left. You're just so far to the right that the center looks like Michael Moore to you. The US Military acknowledges that foreign jihadists are no more than 5% of the fight. The remainder are Iraqis fighting for their future in a once-in-a-century power grab.

Bush and Blair, the dreamy Crusaders, always couch the Iraq war in terms of religion. Heck, Bush's latest lie is that, we cannot leave Iraq because the jihadists will take over the entire country. Exactly how does a small population of jihadists take over Iraq WHEN WE CAN'T?

There are always fundamentalist idiots who want to take over the world. We have some here including, apparently, the governor of Texas who wishes to declare Texas and the US of A a Christian Country. Jefferson and Franklin are now spinning in their graves as they grieve for their secular country. The President of the US of A is now kowtowing to the minority religious rightwing over a nominee for the SC.

Fix what ails us at home.

AQ cannot take over Iraq by force. WE cannot take over Iraq with 150,000 troops and a defense budget of $500 BILLION a year. How in the world will a tiny group of jihadists take over Iraq?

HOW? Think. Think how ridiculous these rightwing pronouncements are. THINK.

Then THINK about how women in Iraq have been going under the veil since the invasion. THINK about how they are frightened about the Sharia laws and THINK about how they are up against the Taliban-like tactics of men in the street. THINK.

This is the religious domination that is being paid for by the US Taxpayer. Again, we've toppled a secular dictator and replaced him with a Islamic Theocracy. Is that what you signed up to do?

If so, then why are you complaining about AQ's Jihadists? You're doing THEIR WORK FOR THEM.

I was against the war before it happened. I'm not responsible for fixing what ails it. The supporters of the war are responsible.

I say, GET THE HECK OUT NOW. I say that because we have run out of reconstruction money since it's now all going to security. I say that because we are running out of fresh troops since all available have been there and back and perhaps back even a third time. I say that because our presence in the region makes for a huge target with Iraqi civilians caught in between.

I have, in the recent past, said that Bush should either s*** or get off the pot. S*** would consist of admitting his grave errors in judgment, instituting a draft, getting over 3 times the number of troops into the country and imposing martial law. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheney, Wolfowitz, et al resign.

Under martial law, Iraq could accept other countries' and UN help for reconstruction. Real elections could be held and the country could be held together until it could raise a real federal security force. We could then send a bill to the Iraqi oil industry for payment.

That would have been the original Powell plan for this inane war. It would, as illegal and immoral as it was, been practical. If the Bushies were going to lie about war, the least they could have been is COMPETENT in prosecuting it.

I wish that the Constitution hadn't passed and then the Sunni minority would consider that politics WORKS for them. That would take the wind out of the insurgency and that would have helped as well. It's really too bad that the Shiites showed their cards in trying to ensure that it would pass.

As it is, it looks like a decade or so of civil war, regional instability, partition and general misery. At any rate, WE cannot afford this war so WE have to leave for purely practical considerations like money and manpower.

I do believe, however, that the Bushies are going in an entirely different direction. I do believe they are trying to expand the war rather than retreat from it.

Perhaps they feel that they've made such a big mess and profited so much from it (ExxonMobil's quarterly profit is the highest of any company in history) that they will become billionaires from an even bigger mess.

Get ready for $100/bbl oil as Goldman Sachs has predicted.

In the meantime...duck.
