That is sort of misleading.

First, the Original report is from some company that does not according to its webpage, sell servers.

Second, you (or maybe the article you cite) confuses market share with sales growth.

The entire market, according to the article increased, I did the numbers, but I have forgotten now, by maybe 12%, and Intel increases sales about 6%. When you solve for unit sales increase, you will see that AMD increased ITS MARKET SHARE, about 1.6%. 12.7% is AMD's own q over q increase.

This is hardly laudable. In a quarter in which it is claims by the Droidian, that Intel had no competitive part, and in a quarter that is a culmination of AMD's THREE YEARS IN THE MARKET with claimed substantial leadership, to ONLY increase market share by 1.6%

IS A ROUNDING ERROR.

and an actual reduction in the pace of adoption by about 80%.
