Carranza, didn`t Steve Altman , in conjunction with the retaliatory patent infringement suit filed against Broadcom in San Diego, emphasize that Qualcomm has important IPR applicable to the higher data rate evolutions of GSM (i.e. GPRS/EDGE)? That those GSM technologies use Qualcomm inventions that were discovered in CDMA high speed data work?

Q sells no GSM only phones so it is not effectively collecting royalties on GSM, it is collecting them on the CDMA air interface it pioneered and is adding GSM as a "value added service"
