Dennis,

Take a look at RJ "Energy stat of the week"

raymondjamesecm.com

If demand is less YOY, please explain why miles traveled, tonnage moved, revenue passenger miles flown are all higher than last year. Doesn't look like less demand.

As long as the EIA measures supply shipped as "demand", you are getting a decent short term S/D number.

The bulls are not dismissing these numbers, only questioning their validity against many unknowns. For instance, just because south Florida is without power doesn't mean the demand is gone.

The numbers in your table indicate the trend has turned to increasing demand for gasoline and distillate. Jet fuel has possibly bottomed also.

Do you have any data for the flow of refined product from Europe over this period?

Dennis, it is just one week, but year-over-year comparisons for the current week are +0.8% for mogas and +1.1% for total product supplied (realizing that the 4-week average is generally a better measure).

I remain suspicious of the EIA data, as I continue to track the inputs and product categories and see somewhat unusual gains. Also unclear on product exports.
