re: Republicans don't have their heads out of their asses enough to realize oil is THE root cause of most of the problems we face today. A major problem is that the oil companies (as well as the drug companies and the financial companies) FUND our politicians... they are not working for us, they are working for them. That's why this congress, in the middle of an energy crisis, passed "energy bills" that did nothing but help the bottom line of the energy companies. And in the middle of a health care cost crisis, passed a "drug benefit bill" that primarily protected the drug companies from competition. And with inflation growing while low end wages shrink, passed a bankruptcy bill that protected the financial companies and screwed the low end worker, but still protected large corporations (contributors). The energy thing is huge, and drives me nuts because it is so easy to solve. But the root problem is that the special interests own our politicians. This is a government of, by and for the special interests. Not the people. Democracy has broken bad. John That's not even mentioning the war and the no bid contracts.
