Hi El Matador,
"Cars are not exactly an object of desire ... all over the place." Here I am afraid that you are mistaken. In China a car is a status symbol, in Norway it's a must have; people would rather have a car there than eat well. etc. etc. All around the world people are in love with cars. I personally don't share that feeling. I just love walking fast to destinations. And public transportation is simply a beautiful idea. But facts are facts. From macho young men to fragile old ladies, cars are in. It's too bad. Cars are not only expensive; they are dangerous. There's an appalling accident every hour.
All this has some bearing on the future of oil prices.
