Did Bush conspire with Al-Quida and Chalabi, or was he just an useful idiot in their push to get Saddam out of power? Tantalizing question.

HUMINT is great stuff if you're interested in accumulating BS.

That's why you have to confirm, and reconfirm your information.. and evaluate and vet your sources.

And even THEN, we often get the "run around" because we don't know their "hidden agenda"..

It comes with the territory.. But SIGINT is just as vulnerable to duplicity and deception..

Hell, we had the Nazis believing we had an entire Army Group ready to invade Calais, instead of Normandy.. (Look up Operation Fortitude)..

But guess what.. I've personally seen the evidence that Saddam's intelligence service was involved in terrorism, specifically supplying car bombs to be used against targets in Saudi Arabia (not sure WHAT targets, either Saudi, or possibly US citizens living there)..

But I saw the accounting receipt to purchase a vehicle for that explicit purpose. (btw, the raw documents are unclassified so I don't believe I'm illicitly disclosing anything..)
