AS, the articles regarding Jack Quinn have been posted. Stop lying, Jack Quinn represented Clinton buddy Marc Rich and got him his pardon.

The reason you are so bothered by this truth is that JAck Quinn of course was Clinton's White House Counsel and that whole deal smells of dirty democrat politics.

JACK QUINN, Former Clinton White House Counsel: The White House and all White Houses will always think about invoking executive privilege whenever anyone tries to intrude on that area of communication between a president and his senior advisers. The reason that's so important is that sitting presidents and for all future presidents there's a vital public interest in making sure that they can have candid, honest, forthright advice from their advisers. If people have to worry that what they tell a president will later be disclosed, they might not give the president their best advice. And that is not in the public interest.

In 1983 businessman Marc Rich was convicted in U.S. federal court of tax evasion, racketeering, and other charges related to Rich's oil deals with Iran during a U.S. embargo. Rich sought asylum in Switzerland. His ex-wife Denise Rich continued to live in the United States, where she was an active supporter of the Democratic Party and contributed money to the presidential library fund of Bill Clinton and to the 2000 Senate campaign of Hillary Clinton. Marc Rich was one of more than 100 people President Clinton pardoned just before leaving office in January of 2001. Rich's pardon prompted a public outcry and Congressional investigations into whether the pardon was given in return for Denise Rich's political contributions.

Scooter Libby was Marc Rich's attorney and was paid 2 million bucks. Quit trying to make Marc Rich out to be some kind of Democrat.

Given that he was convicted in 1983 by Reagan’s DOJ, I doubt that Rich is favorably disposed towards Republicans. It doesn’t really matter. Attorneys represent clients on both sides of the fence, Republicans and Democrats, saints and sinners. Bob Bennett, a lifelong Democrat, represents both Republicans and Democrats.

Defendants in politically driven cases like to cover all of the bases. Tom Delay, who will probably be tried in a court presided over by a Democratic judge, just hired two attorneys that used to work for Ronnie Earle.

Libby recently hired two criminal attorneys, Ted Wells and William Jeffress. Jeffress works for the firm headed by James Baker and Wells successfully defended two former cabinet members, one Democrat and one Republican.

Wells won acquittals for former Agriculture Secretary Michael Espy and former Labor Secretary Raymond Donovan. He is a partner at the New York-based firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

As for Ms. Rich, Time Magazine, a well recognized salacious rightwing rag on a par with NewsMax, reported that when Ms. Rich was approached by the House Government Affairs Committee to appear before the committee, she invoked her Fifth Amendment privileges.

Rich has already declined to testify, citing her Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination.

In your simplistic world, that is the equivalent of a guilty plea. Hang her high, right?

The next time you see Mr. Rich, ask her just how far she was willing to go for that pardon. I am sure that Hillary would be interested in a truthful answer.
