Does non-mindless violence elicit thoughts of sympathy normally?

Ever read Ghandi?

Shame the government into driving social change.. Peacefully!! (It's a strategy the Palestinians would have done well to apply decades ago)..

And make all welfare and social assistance a mutual contract.. If you get money from the government, you must provide that government a service (digging ditches, filling potholes.. etc)..

While I'm against "make work" projects, I AM in favor of WORK FARE.. Welfare with a responsibility of the recipient to apply themselves to becoming independent. (the whole give them a fish, feed them for a day.. teaching them to fish feeds them for a lifetime)..

If you aren't motivated to work, then stay with your parents and let THEM motivate you to get off your @ss and learn a trade/skill...

I'm all about government helping people when they fail/falter.. But I'm not about giving people a reason to fail because I they are not accountable for what they receive.

Pretty simple.. Take away social and governmental accountability, and you create social problems that lead to turn into social crisis.
