I try to combine trips- even when I am going to Costco. With 2 teenagers, and one almost teenager (she is the size of a teenager) I need big box quantities. I agree that the big box places can save you trips. We are lucky in that most of the small places we want to shop, are on the way to somewhere else we HAVE to go- like music lessons, or the gas station, or even Costco. That's why I was so pissed off at Barnes and Noble- which isn't on the way to anything except the cinema, for going to a 14day return period. I need 30 days to be able to combine trips. As you know, I drive a little Honda (a ULEV), so my gas expenditure isn't as much of an issue as it is for people with SUV's- but still, I'm on the road, an extra car, and I really think it's important to plan these things out.

So good point!!!! I'm glad you brought that up.
