I think that Nature has given all of us various talents, and people can choose to use them, or not. For those that don't, and don't at least try to provide for themselves, I have very little patience. It is a total waste of their life, and an infringement upon others when one doesn't even try to cope with, and for, themselves. (Unless there is a physical or mental reason why they don't---OR they have been living in a society like the one Saddam had for over 30 years, and they have been totally traumatized) After Katrina, and seeing the hands to the sky with so many people, and not even moving out of the dirty water, or looking to the government for every single thing, it was just hard to take in. I looked at the industry that had been there, and while much of it is shipping, fishing, casinos, oil, machinery, entertainment, hospitality and tourism, etc etc....it just seems like the folks there could have been in a much better economic state, than in fact, they were in. It really is all about attitude....at least IMO. Dr. Wayne Dwyer calls it the one-bag or two bagger syndrome. The one bagger, as he/she is bagging the groceries at the check out stand, says "there is NO grocery checker in the world that I can't make help me bag these groceries...." (and he moves like a slug to facilitate that expectation)...and the two bagger works efficiently and quickly, while saying "there is NO grocery checker in the world that is going to beat me bagging these groceries...." These folks tie with the checker every time....
