Unfortunately the neocon republicans supported Saddam for decades entrenching him in wealth and power. We did owe it to the Iraqi people to help them over throw the guy that we propped up. However invasion and occupation was not what I had in mind.

Oh?? If it's "as you claim", then aren't we OBLIGATED to fix the problem we allegedly created by supporting Saddam?

And where do the French and Russians play into all of this? I've seen a lot of Iraqi weaponry around here, and not much of it is American.

In fact, most of it appears to be Russian... Things that make you go "hmmm..."

You bet is does...the Saudi Royalty are like family...very wealthy family. We won't be invading Saudi Arabia any time soon to deliver their oil to the people!

Probably not.. But having a rival democratic state in Iraq, and certainly one who's people ARE P*SSED OFF that Saudi Wahhabist are trying to terrorize their people and spread their fundamentalist militantism, might just prevent us from having to invade SA..

Social and economic change must come to the region. I'm hoping it doesn't require more military overthrows of antagonist regimes supporting terrorism.

And where does the money go? Well it goes towards propping up the fledgling democracy that we're creating..

And you have a problem with providing a market for the sale of Iraq's natural resource so they can convert it into economic prosperity, jobs, higher wages, and social stability??

Should we just TAKE IT from the Iraqis?

Do you have a problem with people selling things so that they can earn money to buy other things?

Denying people that opportunity sounds like "controlling" it to me...

Is that what you are advocating??

Or is your logic really as hollow as your cranial container??..
