you're completely mistaken! It is NOT illegial nor even supposed to be. Have you ever tried? The margin requirements can be ridiculous depending on the price. Are you on the naked short bandwagon too? If so it figures with your complete lack of shorting knowledge, very typical from what I've observed. Enjoy the discussion and try to learn something.

SHorting below $5 illegal? ROFL!!! You've got to be kidding me. Do some more research. Nothing illegal about, although some brokers require steeper margins or don't allow it at all.
