Nothing like a "ROAD TRIP!". Five months on the west coast must have been great. When I was young we would just take off for months on the slightest suggestion, to anywhere, anytime. The stories I could tell....

Now, everyone is too serious, and too cash strapped. If you wanted to just get by, in the old days, it was much easier. Now, you can't survive unless you work 50 weeks a year.

We're much poorer than we used to be...

I was in some of the same areas this summer, and you're right, there's an awful lot of it -- that stretch of I-5 between Portland and Olympia, for instance.
